Productivity optimisations for clients are carried out using numerical and physical methods. The impact of near wellbore properties and completion geometry components on well productivity is predicted using in-house software. A commercial numerical simulator is used to design hydraulic fracturing treatments and drill cuttings re-injection projects.

To complement and validate computer predictions, we and our associates operate a range of laboratory equipment to physically model the processes occurring in a reservoir and around a well. We have a hydrostatic linear core flood station operating at up to 10,000 psi and 200°C. It can accommodate up to 1m long cores. This is used mainly for assessing the sensitivity of reservoir rocks to well fluids, e.g. drilling, completion and workover fluids, and for evaluating the effectiveness of matrix stimulation treatments, such as acids, surfactants and scale inhibitor squeezes.

Drawing upon considerable in-house experience developed over several years, we and our associates offer a full design and implementation service for drill cuttings re-injection projects, from initial feasibility studies through to design of surface facilities and job start up. This work is supported by a comprehensive laboratory facility providing specialist measurements, such as mud and waste slurry rheology and sand settlement tests. Other specialist analyses that can be conducted include tube blocking and solids deposition tests for rapidly screening scale, wax and asphaltene inhibitors for efficacy at reservoir conditions.
